Commission Procedure

If you are interested in commissioning me for a custom work of art, this is the process for ordering:

1) Contact me and tell me about your project. You can contact me via email (, the form on my contact page or by filling out the form above. Let me know your preferred size, medium, whether you will be interested in matting or framing and if there is a date you need the portrait done by.

2) Send me photos... You can send them via email or standard mail. (I prefer they be sent via email, but if you send them through standard mail I will return them to you at the completion of the project). Make sure you send high resolution images so I can achieve the best detail in the portrait.

3) Discuss the project and Price Quote... After I receive the photos and description from you I will reply to you with any further questions about the images and let you know the best options as far as a medium and the composition go. I will also send you a rough estimate of price.

4) Price quote... Once we finalize ideas and you agree to the estimate, I require a 50% deposit to begin work. You will receive an email requesting funds through Paypal. Payment can be sent using Paypal or a check using standard mail. Also, if you request, I can provide you with images of the process as I work on the drawing to keep you up to date on my progress.

5) Upon completion of the portrait... I will send you a watermarked, high-resolution digital photograph of the finished portrait for your review and approval. Once you approve the portrait it will be matted and framed if requested.

6) Remaining Balance...Next I will send another Paypal request for the remaining balance and upon receiving the remaining balance, I will ship the order to the address you provide me. Please note that the shipping may be delayed depending on the medium ie, oil portraits will take longer to dry so be sure to order oil paintings more than 7 months in advance.
