Quality Digital Nutrition Resources

Nutrition handouts are a common part of our client interactions. They summarize important medical nutrition therapy information, provide guidance on dietary next steps, and can be a valuable resource to patients feeling overwhelmed by new nutritional information.

I can help you create quality digital nutrition resources that you'll feel confident and proud to provide to your clients. I will:

  • Refresh your resource with a clean design

  • Re-write the content with clear, simple language to suite a wider audience

  • Incorporate visuals to accompany and compliment the content

Be written with simple language that can be understood by most audiences

Have a layout and structure that is easy to follow

Contain appropriate colors that can print well in black and white

Use clear and easy to read fonts and colors

FAQs

Do your services include a content review?

I do not currently offer content review. If you are concerned about the legitimacy or accuracy of the content in your resource, I suggest doing a literature review (or hiring a literature reviewer) prior to having your documents re-designed.

What's the difference between literature review and re-writing?

Literature review involves a considerable amount of research into the topics related to your resource to verify the accuracy of the resource's content. My service of re-writing assumes you have already done a thorough review of your resource's content and would just like the content re-written in a simpler way to suite a wider audience. The main difference is my service does not involve fact-checking.

What if I want to sell my handout on a marketplace like RD2RD?

If you'd like to sell your nutrition resource on a marketplace or e-commerce store, you will need to license the design in order to sell it. This can either be a flat fee or a percentage or sales, depending on what is agreed upon.

How much do you charge for design licensing?

As a general rule of thumb, though exact terms will be discussed for your personalized contract, the flat licensing fee is three times the design cost, which will vary depending on the project.

Why do you charge a fee if I want to sell the resource?

It is common practice to charge a fee for intellectual property transfer. For example, an e-commerce business may hire graphic designers to create t-shirt graphics. They can pay a single flat fee up front for the designs, which will be higher, or they can pay a smaller fee upfront for the work, but pay the designer a percentage of each sale for the term determined. The choice of a flat fee versus percentage of sales depends on the contract and what the two parties agree to. In the case where you are exclusively using the handout in your practice to provide to patients, this does not involve resale. When the intention is selling the document for profit, the design is the intellectual property of the designer, the content is of course yours, but unless the design is licensed for resale, you can't (or shouldn't) be selling it.

Testimonials

Project: Custom t-shirt graphics

"Sara is one of the most creative minds in illustrating I've worked with. She writes diligent notes and is outstanding with her ideas. Her hasty output in work and strive for perfection made her a pleasure to work with. There's nothing more that would've made my experience more pleasant or better. She has a great rate too!"
